In tonight’s 1000-lb Sisters premiere we review that a lot happened last season. Tammy finally had the weight loss surgery. She also rushed into marrying a seemingly nice guy and so the family did their best to be happy for her. However, Amy had a second baby. She was really happy at first. She’s always wanted a family.
Having weight loss surgery herself paved the way for that. Amy should have been happy with her now two kids and she wasn’t. She began feeling like she was outnumbered. She has two kids under two. It wasn’t easy. She was grateful for whatever help she could get and she just wasn’t getting that from her husband. Michael had checked out. He was still there. He just wasn’t interested in helping at all.
After everything that’s happened. After everything they did to get pregnant, Amy felt abandoned by Michael. He wouldn’t let her rest with the second baby. She had to do everything herself.
She was living with pure chaos. She was taking care of her older baby while holding the younger baby in her arms. She felt so tired after everything and that shouldn’t be the case. She wasn’t a single mother. She was married to a man. He was there at the house everyday. Why was he not helping? Amy had to turn to her family for help because they were the only ones willing to help.
Tammy was coming home. She was leaving the rehab center. She only stayed as long as she did because she met Caleb and that was the only way they could see each other.
Caleb hasn’t qualified for surgery yet. He also has a trach still in. The nurses wouldn’t sign off on him sharing a bed with Tammy and so their beds were put in the same room in order for them to stay together. They’ve been living like roommates ever since. They haven’t actually consummated their marriage. They just joke about doing so the second Caleb loses enough to join Tammy at her new place.
Tammy’s previous house had gotten broken into. They stole everything they could from that house. She was now going to be living at Mandy’s old house. She also has to leave Caleb behind. It was tough. Tammy and Caleb were both in tears because they had never been separated before.
What she has with Caleb was perhaps her healthiest relationship. He was good for her. He never tried to sabotage her. He never tried to get in the way of her going back to her life. He was happy for her even as he was sad for himself. He felt like he wasn’t enough to keep her.
Caleb was in the same position that Tammy was once in. He needs to keep doing what he should be doing. He need to qualify for weight loss surgery and only then will he be reunited with his wife. Tammy coming home came at the best time. Amy was dying for some adult conversation.
She even lost that with Michael. He was in no way the same man that she married. He was now selfish. Amy was struggling with being a single mother and she was going to break. She could barely handle it when the family came together to welcome Tammy home.
They were all joking around at first. Until Amy felt like the but of a joke and she started crying. She said she was sick of feeling like this. Like she had no one.
She and Mandy were butting heads. She was bringing down the mood for Tammy. Tammy got to sit in a seat for the first time in years. She was even joking about her trach scars. She was telling people to put their finger in the hole. They were laughing about it and then someone mentioned Amy’s eyes. Her eyes are a sore point. She and Mandy kicked off.
Amy was so hurt that she left the party. Mandy was still fuming after her sister left. Tammy was just wondering why everyone forgot about her. It was supposed to be her night. Her welcome back gathering. Instead it was a family feud. It was also a sneak peak of what’s to come. Amy was cracking under the pressure of everything. She either has to toss aside Michael or let her family do it for her at this point.
