Days of Our Lives Recap: Wednesday, December 27 – Ava Suspects Wendy’s Pregnant & Ready to Marry – Tripp’s China Decision

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 27, reveals that Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) spent Christmas in bed with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and admitted his place already felt like home.

Rafe confirmed that his mom decorated the house with Gabi Hernandez DiMera (last played by Camila Banus), which led to a conversation about missing his sister.

Gabi normally made Christmas tamales, but Rafe had taken over the tradition this year and planned to deliver some to her at Statesville.

Although Jada thought Rafe was a good brother, Rafe didn’t feel he could earn that title until he found out who really took down Li Shin (Remington Hoffman).

Jada played a trivia game with Rafe to distract him and then sampled his tamales before they fell back into bed together.

As they canoodled on Wednesday’s Days episode, Jada confessed that she’d never felt like this about anyone before – not even her ex. This was something deeper and stronger, so Rafe was pleased since he felt the same way.

In the park, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) sat on a bench with Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace), who was torn since she didn’t want to leave her life in Salem, but she also felt a sense of obligation to her parents in China.

Although Tripp selfishly wanted Wendy to stay, he vowed to support her decision no matter what.

While Tripp was off getting hot chocolate, Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) came along and joined Wendy on the bench.

Things were tense at first, but Melinda managed to convince Wendy that she truly came to care about Li. Melinda also wished she’d been less ambitious and more open to love throughout her life.

After Melinda rattled off a bunch of compliments about Wendy, she insisted she was a good judge of character. Wendy accepted the compliments and wondered if she could get some advice.

That led to Wendy admitting she was torn between love and duty to her parents. Melinda assumed Wendy’s mom and dad were putting a lot of pressure on her now that she was their only child left.

Wendy confessed that although she moved to the U.S. to escape her parents demands and expectations, now they wanted her to move back to China.

Melinda wondered if that’s what Wendy wanted, but Tripp interrupted with the hot chocolate before Wendy could answer.

Behind The Bistro on Wednesday’s Days episode, Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) asked who was minding the store while Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) were outside.

Ava suggested the staff had it covered while they handled the shipment outside.

Once Stefan took a few flour bags with pills inside, Harris gave Ava his coat to keep her warm and pushed for the truth. Harris insisted there had to be another reason why Ava was pushing him away.

After Harris asked if Ava was in love with Stefan, she insisted she wasn’t. However, Ava thought for a moment and quickly leaned into Harris’ false assumption as a good cover story.

Ava suggested it hadn’t gotten as far as love yet, but she lied that she was indeed seeing Stefan.

Once Ava talked about Stefan reminding her so much of Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), she apologized for lying and said Harris was a good man.

Harris eventually took his coat back and seemed hurt, but Ava assured him that she’d cherish the memories they made and wished him well.

Later, Harris cornered Stefan alone and warned him not to screw with Ava since she’d been through enough.

Stefan was confused as Harris insisted that Ava had told him the truth.

Harris mentioned Stefan having a wife in prison and suggested that Gabi’s situation was partly Stefan’s fault, so he didn’t want Ava dragged into his drama.

Back with Ava on Wednesday’s Days episode, she met up with Tripp and Wendy ahead of their Christmas dinner together. Wendy had some updates to share, so Tripp said he hoped Ava understood why they had to do this.

Ava asked if they were getting married and jumped to the conclusion that Wendy might be pregnant, but Wendy assured Ava that she wasn’t.

Nevertheless, Ava was almost as shocked when Wendy admitted she was moving to China – and Tripp revealed that he was moving with her.

At home on Wednesday’s DOOL show, Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) opened the door to Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and was stunned over her heartfelt apology.

Holly recapped how she got wasted and ultimately realized her crush on Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) had been pointless. Now Holly wished she’d listened to Tate sooner.

Holly also knew that she treated Tate horribly, so she was sorry about their botched date and for not seeing what was right in front of her.

Although Holly said she wouldn’t give her another chance if she were Tate, he admitted he bought her a birthday and Christmas combo gift.

Tate had trashed it after their fight, but he dug it out of the wastebasket and handed it over. It was a first edition of Pride and Prejudice since Holly loved Jane Austen.

Holly thought it was perfect and lit up over Tate’s thoughtfulness.

Once Holly got braver about asking for that second chance and do-over date, Tate suggested going to The Bistro’s New Year’s Eve party together.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Tate and Holly’s second-chance date will end in catastrophe, so stay tuned for the disastrous news that’s coming up.
