The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) is eager to see what the future holds with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), but Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is arguably her true love.
Although Kyle and Summer recently finalized their divorce, we don’t buy the idea that they’re over forever! Summer and Kyle have faced their share of bumps in the road, but they’ve always managed to overcome them sooner or later.
Kyle has already split from Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) – not that they were ever a serious item in the first place.
Audra seemed like more of a distraction from Kyle’s pain and anger than anything else, so Summer never really paid much attention to the new lover in his life.
However, Summer would certainly take notice if Lola Rosales (last played by Sasha Calle) came back to town and stirred up some old feelings for their mutual ex-husband!
Kyle thought he was going to spend the rest of his life with Lola once upon a time, so her Genoa City return would definitely shake things up.
Lola no longer has family in GC, but she still has plenty of friends like Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway).
Abby couldn’t stand in the way of Lola’s culinary career upgrade in Miami, but Lola could still come back to Genoa City for a visit.
Maybe Abby could reconsider the idea of expanding Society with another restaurant and get some help from Lola on some sort of collaboration.
It’d be a good way to explain Lola’s GC homecoming if she ever returns.
Now that Sasha Calle has been replaced as Supergirl in the DCU franchise, would she be open to making a Y&R comeback as Lola Rosales?
If not, Lola could be recast with a different actress since fans are used to accepting new faces in familiar roles.
Whatever the case, it’d be interesting to see how Kyle would react to seeing Lola again.
Of course, it’d be even more interesting to see Summer’s reaction to seeing Kyle and Lola together!
Perhaps a good dose of jealousy would help pull Summer back in Kyle’s direction, so that’s something to keep in mind if the writers are planning a Kyle and Summer reunion.
