In tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy episode, it was awkward sharing a house after everything they’ve been through together. Simone left her fiancé at the altar for Lucas. They slept together. They accidentally killed a man together. They were almost fired together and so living together albeit in separate rooms was awkward.

To make matters worse, their third roommate was enjoying a great sex life with her new girlfriend. Mika was dating Helm. She was the co-Chief Resident. She assigned them tasks. Lucas made a smart remark the next morning that he had to apologize for because he didn’t want to get put on rectals.

Bailey was running the residents program right now. She gave the residents a to-do list. They have to perform several small procedures before they could scrub up for actual surgery.

They also had to keep studying because they were going to be tested. Bailey was warned earlier that day to change up her treatment of the residents because this new generation was supposedly different. However, Bailey refused to listen to her husband. She said all residents are the same in that they needed structure, rules, and discipline.

Bailey felt she was in the right because she got the approval of her young daughter, Pru. Pru was still a little girl attending day care and so she’s probably not the best judge of character. What works for her might not work for actual adults. The residents weren’t happy with their to-do list.

Simone was assigned to follow Schmitt all day. Blue and Lucas were assigned to Bailey. Mika was assigned to Teddy. Jules was assigned to the ER. They all ran into issues. Jules was on call when two large families came in because they got violent at a softball match against each other.

There was a pregnant woman in the mix. She lost control of bladder. She was also experiencing pain in her back and so there could be something wrong with her spine. Across the hospital, Simone got in trouble when she accidentally revealed to a patient his HIV status.

They tested for that when people first come in. The patient hadn’t known he had HIV. He felt the test was wrong. He also didn’t like that Simone asked him if he was on any HIV medication and so he demanded another doctor because he couldn’t stand looking at her.

Simone called Schmitt as well as Richard. They broke the news to Dante officially. He does have HIV. He also needed surgery for his gallbladder and he was now refusing to do the surgery. He wanted to leave the hospital. He didn’t want to acknowledge he had HIV. He was in denial.

Dante was a baker. He owns his own bakery. He wanted to get back to it and Schmitt wouldn’t let him leave. Dante had been flirting with Schmitt before he learned about his status. That stopped after he learned his status. He was under the belief that no one would want him now that he has HIV.

Schmitt said he was still interested if Dante was. They just needed to do his surgery first and Dante’s symptoms were getting worse. He ultimately agreed to the surgery. It was the first solo surgery for Schmitt since he accidentally killed a guy last season.

Simone couldn’t scrub in because she hadn’t completed her list. She also felt really bad about telling Dante his status so casually. She tried to channel that anger into sleeping with Lucas to make herself feel better. And he turned her down because he thought she was doing something she might regret.

Lucas also couldn’t scrub up for any surgeries because he got tied down. There was a patient that came in with a gunshot wound. He had money hidden on him and so Lucas was put in charge of the money. The security guards were busy. Bailey assigned him that task.

Meaning Lucas got stuck with a bag of forty thousand dollars all day. The closest he came to an OR was when he was given a bullet from the patient to take down to Pathology. Blue had been on the same case. He at least got to massage the unknown patient’s heart.

Winston allowed it because they thought the patient was dead by then. It was a miracle that they got a heartbeat back. Blue didn’t complete his list either and so he didn’t get to scrub in despite getting the heartbeat back. Then there was Mika. Mika was only supposed to check on Teddy.

Teddy instead had Mika running all over the place checking on her patients. Mika was so busy doing that she didn’t do anything on her list. Owen still signed off that she had done the list because she was the doctor that saved his wife’s life.

Mika then tried to get Teddy to finally enjoy her bedrest. Teddy broke down in tears in front of her. They both decided to let that be a secret between the two of them. Jules meanwhile got stuck with a feuding family. They were fighting over that softball match.

The pregnant woman had needed surgery. They delivered her baby at thirty weeks and the baby was in the NICU. Both mother and baby were going to be fine. Jules on the other hand finally snapped at the family for causing so much mayhem. And they didn’t learn their lesson only they did name her MVP of their annual game.

Jules got the MVP award.

Lucas left the money bag in the on call room where he almost slept with Simone. Blue found the bag. He then agreed to help Lucas find it in exchange for Lucas doing all the rectals and it was only after he agreed that he learned that Blue set him up.

But Blue later found a name for their robbery victim. His name was Dorian. His parents heard the news report and they came down to the hospital because they thought the unknown man could be their son. And Blue confirmed it was.

And Winston openly questioned Bailey’s teaching methods. He thought the residents was losing out on real life experience by following a list. It made Bailey question if her method was too retro. She talked about it with Ben and her husband said that she was iconic. She could still teach the residents a thing or two.

And Lucas ended up telling Simone whatever they had was done. He was sick and tired of her putting herself first. He needed to choose himself now. They were just roommates now.

THE END!
