General Hospital Recap: Monday, April 1 – Sonny Pushes for New Jason Charges, Anna Fights Back with Cyrus Threat

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, April 1, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) found Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) walking around with a nurse at GH, so he was glad to see his son was doing better.

Once Dante was back in bed, he told Sonny the story of what really happened on the pier and defended Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

Sonny admitted he talked to Jason himself and found out he was an FBI informant.

Although Dante thought Sonny should hear the whole story instead of throwing away the friendship, Sonny acted like Jason just wasn’t the same guy anymore.

After Jason showed up at Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) door, Aiden Webber (Enzo De Angelis) let him in.

Liz appeared and talked to Jason about being head nurse now, so he congratulated her – though he was sorry to hear about the loss of Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy).

Jake Webber (Hudson West) eventually came downstairs and demanded answers from Jason, who couldn’t say much other than he got into some trouble and had to take a job that he didn’t want.

If Jason could’ve gotten in touch to reveal he was alive, he would have.

Jason asked Jake to believe him, but Jake acted like Jason shouldn’t pretend he knew him or that he cared.

Once Jason decided he should go, Elizabeth stepped to the doorway with him.

Although Liz didn’t blame Jake for his valid feelings since she had questions too, she was also glad to see Jason alive.

Jason thought it was good that Jake wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, but Liz hinted that he was a scared teen under the surface and that he was mostly worried about losing his father.

After Jason was gone, Jake asked Elizabeth if she knew Jason was alive and didn’t tell him. Liz assured Jake that she didn’t know and gave him a safe space to open up about his feelings.

Jake basically admitted he felt guilty for thinking it was easier when Jason was deceased, but Liz pointed out that Jason didn’t lie or make up stories.

Jason still cared about Jake, so Elizabeth felt he would keep showing up and trying to get through to him.

At The Invader, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) bickered with Adrian DeWitt (Dieterich Gray) the gossip columnist before Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) interrupted with big news.

In a private conversation, Diane gave Alexis updates on Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) having another older brother named Fergus Byrne, who had to recuse himself from the committee in charge of deciding on Alexis’ disbarment.

Since Fergus’ law partner replaced him, Diane thought all this was shady and would help them get the disbarment overturned.

Alexis admitted Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) had concerns about her drinking again if she went down this road, but Diane offered a pep talk.

After Alexis argued with Adrian again, she pushed Diane to do her thing and get her out of there!

At Deception, Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) barged in before Blaze aka Allison Rogers (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) could sign a contract as the new face of Deception.

That derailed Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) attempt to lock Blaze in since Natalia had some issues with terms.

Natalia didn’t like the idea of Blaze being presented as “edgy” since that word had negative connotations.

Blaze agreed that she liked to think of herself as creative instead.

The idea of Blaze being a spokesmodel and selling Deception’s products also didn’t work for Natalia, but Blaze suggested a compromise where a second model could handle things like shopping channel appearances.

Once Lucy gave her approval and Blaze’s contract was signed, Natalia asked for the Deception team’s word that Blaze’s private life would remain private.

Maxie asked if that’s what Blaze wanted, so Blaze backed Natalia up.

In Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) office, she spoke to Detective Bennett (Kendrick Cross) about a new candidate for the police academy since he was an instructor there.

Anna explained that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) was ex-military and that she was giving him some extra time to study for the written exam.

Once Anna revealed that Sonny was Dex’s former employer, Detective Bennett seemed skeptical about this PCPD addition.

Bennett was also confused since Anna previously seemed to have a soft spot for Sonny, but Anna made it clear that wasn’t the case anymore and that Dex could be a big asset against organized crime.

Afterward, Sonny dropped by to speak with Anna about Dante’s recovery and ask what other charges might be brought against Jason since he was still on the rooftop that night.

Anna acted like Sonny had some nerve asking that when Jason clearly saved his life up there.

This was an FBI case now, but Anna pointed out she could still go after Sonny for beating up Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

Sonny was taken aback over Anna’s sudden change of attitude toward him, but she was done letting the past cloud her judgment and wasn’t going to let things slide anymore. Anna ultimately ordered Sonny out of her office.

When Jason visited Dante in the hospital, Dante thanked him for saving his life with the pressure bandage and 911 call.

Jason thought it was his fault Dante was on the pier in the first place, so Dante joked about taking back his gratitude.

Dante eventually brought up Sonny’s conversation with Jason since he knew Jason was an FBI informant.

Jason promised Dante that he wasn’t helping to take down Sonny, but he couldn’t get into the details.

All Jason could say was that the leverage gave him no choice and that he’d do whatever he could to make sure Sonny stayed safe.

General Hospital spoilers say Sonny’s issues with Jason will lead to more trouble, so we’ll pass along predictions on all the chaos ahead.
