In tonight’s Blue Bloods, it was a busy day for the Reagans. First, Sean gets robbed. Someone knocked him to the ground. They grabbed his backpack and ran off. There was no one there to stop him. Sean never got a good look at the guy. The thief was wearing a mask and a hoodie pulled up. Sean pretty much gave up on getting the backpack back.
It sucked because he has important things in that bag. He had his laptop in there. He had his wallet in there. He was in college now. He couldn’t easily afford to replace those things. He reported what happened to campus security. They called the cops. Sean reported what happened and then he tried to keep it a secret from his father.
Which didn’t count for much in New York City. Sean was a Reagan after all. His grandfather was the Police Commissioner. Most of the cops have worked with his father the detective. Danny eventually found out his son got robbed and he had a hard time getting in touch with his son. Sean had asked the cops not to tell his dad.
He said he would tell his dad himself. He just never got around to it or so he claims. Sean said he was busy because he had a big exam coming up. He said that’s why he didn’t tell his dad right away what happened. And why he missed his dad’s calls at first.
Danny didn’t care about his reasonings. He felt he should have been Sean’s first call. He also started looking into the theft because he wanted to arrest the person that robbed his son. The only reason that Frank wasn’t getting involved as well because he had his hands full with Jamie and Joe. Those two got into a public brawl.
They went to a party for a cop they both knew. The cops called them Reagans. Joe made a quip that he wasn’t a Reagan. He was a Hill. Jamie asked him what that was supposed to mean. This along with other things that have happened lately pushed them into fighting each other.
They went outside to fight. The crowd unfortunately followed them. The crowd recorded the fight and posted it on social media. Frank had to watch a video of the fight on the news. His whole team was brough in to assist him with making a decision.
They normally would have suspended cops for brawling in the streets, but Frank’s team didn’t want to do that this time because the fighters were Frank’s son and grandson. The team instead tried to defend the cops. They were considering having the news pull the coverage by claiming it was risking undercover officers.
Frank didn’t want to do that. He didn’t want to treat his family like children. Not when they were grown adults and could make their own decisions. He later brought them into his office.
He explained that if they hadn’t been family that he would have demoted the both of them. He was still considering that option by the way. He couldn’t be seen giving them favorable treatment. Frank thought the best way to bury this beef between them was to have them work together. He had them both work patrol.
Eddie didn’t think that was a good idea. She thought that might create more problems. Plus, the family soon became concerned about Sean. Sean finally told his dad why he didn’t tell him right away what happened. He had been ashamed that he comes from a family of cops and couldn’t even fight back.
He thought the robbery was his fault. His father tried to clear that up with his son. Sean just didn’t accept it. Danny made the mistake of telling Sean that they were going to have a sting. They were going to set a trap for the thief in the same park where Sean was robbed.
Danny was waiting on clearance from his boss before they carried out the sting. Sean thought that was taking too long. He decided to try and catch the thief himself. He went back to the park. He saw the thief trying to rob another college student. Sean tried to step in. He got stabbed for it and the young woman he was trying to help called for an ambulance. Danny yelled at his son at the hospital. He couldn’t believe his son would be so irresponsible. The good thing that came out of it was that Sean finally saw the thief’s face when he pulled off his mask.
They were able to identify the thief. Danny and Baez arrested him. The guy was young. He was around Sean’s age and he was working in the kitchen at campus to save money. The robbery wasn’t even his idea. He was part of a ring. The whole thing was orchestrated by campus security. The guy in charge would pick out the best college students to rob and he would have campus staff rob them. The guy was a former cop. Danny still arrested him because of the harm caused to his son and other students.
Eddie meanwhile closed a case. She first responded to a home robbery. The wife and husband claimed they were robbed and they thought their landlord was involved. The landlord wanted them out of the building. They were refusing to break their lease. They wanted to stay in the apartment. Well, it turns out the wife faked the robbery. She wanted to blame the whole thing on the landlord. The landlord had an affair with the wife’s husband and the husband caught feelings. He told the landlord he was in love with her. She didn’t feel the same. She wanted him and his wife to move out.
The husband couldn’t say anything because he didn’t want to risk his marriage. Only his wife found out about it. She robbed her own place and tried to frame it on the mistress. She got arrested because of that. Eddie closed her case. She also realized she was wrong about Jamie and Joe working together. They managed to bury the hatchet. They bonded in the heat of the moment. It helped get them over their beef and they both went to Sunday dinner with the rest of the family. Sean was the big hero at the dinner for helping a young woman in trouble. It even won him a date with her.
Erin didn’t bother telling her story that week. She blamed herself for a defendant getting killed. The guy got arrested on a drug charge and it turns out his lawyer was trying to make him take the fall because his other client was a longtime friend. Erin found out about it. She dropped the charges against the innocent guy. She also reported the lawyer to the judge and the ethics committee. And with people believing he was a snitch, the innocent guy got shot outside of his home.
THE END!
