Russell Brand and Katy Perry‘s marriage is, by all accounts, dunzo. The 36-year-old comedian filed for divorce last month, the 27-year-old singer has found a new place to live, and there are rumors that the couple is already investigating potential rebound relationships. (Tim Tebow, really?)
However, there is one person, who is rooting for them to reunite: Russell’s Arthur co-star, Dame Helen Mirren!
“It’s very hard to keep things going,” the 66-year-old Oscar winner told Intouch this week when asked about the couple. “Maybe they’ll come back together again later on in life!”
She also hinted that perhaps Russell and Katy’s careers are to blame for their split: “They’re both very, very successful,” she added.
Luckily for Helen, her own marriage to American director Taylor Hackford still seems to be going well, despite the fact that they too spend a lot of their time apart on separate film sets.
“This is the reality of our relationship. We spend a great deal of our time together separate. I always visit her (on set) when I can,” Taylor told USA Today in 2010. “In the beginning of your life, you’re looking for perfection. It doesn’t exist. There’s always compromises.”
“By the time we met each other, we realized that was the case. When it’s right, you accept those things and realize it’s better than anything else.“
Perhaps Russell and Katy should have asked the Hackford-Mirrens, who have been married for 15 years, for some advice before deciding to call it quits on their marriage.
