Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 29, reveals that Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) bought gifts for Jude Brady (Oliver McLarty) before John reserved a restaurant table ahead of their dinner with Sloan Petersen-Brady (Jessica Serfaty) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan).
After Marlena called Eric to see where he was, he didn’t pick up and texted her that he couldn’t make it.
Marlena was uneasy, so she called Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and learned Eric wasn’t at work either.
Once Marlena tried Sloan’s number and realized it had been disconnected, she finally made her way over to Eric’s apartment with John.
Eric opened the door looking rough and offered updates on the whole stolen Jude story.
Marlena and John thought some food would make Eric feel better, but he wasn’t hungry and pushed his meal around once he joined them in the town square.
Although John and Marlena argued that Nicole DiMera (Arianne Zucker) would find a way to keep Eric in Jude’s life, Eric felt he had to stay away.
When Everett Lynch aka Robert “Bobby” Stein (Blake Berris) popped up and apologized for decking Eric at Small Bar, Eric stomped off.
John followed and offered a pep talk, but Eric wasn’t sold on whether he could still be part of the picture for Jude.
Back with Everett, he once again rejected Marlena’s attempt to help him and lashed out before walking away.
In the park on Wednesday’s Days episode, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) told Chad about Everett’s dissociative identity disorder, so Chad reflected on Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) experience with DID and how difficult that was.
Chad pointed out that Stephanie was in for a rough ride if she stood by Everett through his ordeal, but she didn’t want to abandon him over his mental illness.
Marlena eventually got in touch with Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) since she wanted to stage Everett’s intervention, so Jada texted Stephanie about it as well.
In Montana, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) talked about being lucky to get their motel room since it was trout season.
Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) appeared and said he’d sleep on a cot before adding that he didn’t want to be a third wheel.
Harris pointed out that Lucas was there to serve as a driver and the lookout.
Once they got Clyde Weston (James Read) behind bars, Harris insisted they could get Lucas permanently released from prison.
There was some talk about the librarian in town recognizing Rebecca Goldman’s (Christy St. John) photo.
Goldman had seemingly accessed the black book images at a computer she’d been using there before printing them out.
Clyde was likely hiding in the woods, but Harris suggested they could find Goldman and follow her to Clyde’s location.
Although there weren’t any open restaurants in the area, Harris and Lucas decided to see what they could find to eat at the nearby convenience store.
At the pub on Wednesday’s Days episode, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) had dinner with Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu), so he was curious over Harris’ mysterious unpaid time off and Ava’s involvement.
Steve also expressed concern over Stephanie and Everett’s connection, but Jada didn’t want to get into the details of Everett’s personal life – though she did admit she didn’t think Everett would physically harm Stephanie.
Once their burgers arrived, Jada commented on her gluten-free bun and how she talked Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) into using the brand Goldman once recommended.
Jada explained that Goldman had celiac disease, so this was the only kind of bread she ate – and she ordered it from a niche bakery online.
Steve did some digging after Jada left on Wednesday’s DOOL show, so he was able to score some crucial info before calling Ava.
Although Ava asked how Steve found her, he acted like it was his business to find people who didn’t want to be found.
Despite Steve’s desire to come out to Montana and join the Clyde search, Ava pushed him stay in Salem and trust her to handle this.
Steve’s investigation pointed to a Faith Silvers getting a bread shipment at a P.O. box in Ennis, Montana.
The first shipment happened a week after Clyde broke out of prison, so Steve and Ava assumed that “Faith” was Goldman.
Once Steve mentioned that the next shipment was scheduled to arrive tomorrow, he warned Ava to be careful since he didn’t want her coming home in a body bag. Ava promised she would indeed be careful and secretly pulled a gun out of her belongings.
After Ava hung up on Wednesday’s Days episode, she insisted Clyde was the only person who’d be coming home in a body bag and looked awfully determined.
Later, Harris and Lucas made it back with slushies as well as flaming hot cheese puffs, so Ava sat down to eat with them and kept quiet about Steve’s latest news.
Back with Steve, he called Chad to let him know Harris was on the case and that he felt confident Harris would bring Clyde back.
When Chad asked if Clyde would be dead or alive, Steve said he didn’t have to tell Chad which one he’d prefer!
