The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, July 1, reveals that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will show up at the Abbott mansion in hopes of taking Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) out for ice cream following his first day at camp.
Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) will admit that all that playing tuckered Harrison out, so he’ll be upstairs napping.
Summer will worry that there’s more going on and express concern about the other kids talking to Harrison about Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) kidnapping.
Despite Summer’s fears about Harrison’s trauma getting triggered, Claire will think camp has been good for Harrison so far.
Summer will scoff over Claire being an expert at camp now and will grumble just before Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) comes home.
While Summer is upstairs checking on Harrison, Claire will admit she doesn’t think Summer’s ever going to be truly comfortable with this nanny situation.
However, Claire will think maybe she can try to coordinate with Summer’s schedule more and make sure she doesn’t feel left out.
Once Summer returns on Monday’s Y&R episode, she’ll mention that Harrison looked sunburned and start harping on Claire about sunblock.
After Claire leaves the room, Kyle will scold Summer for getting on Claire’s case, but Summer’s real issue will be whatever’s going on between Kyle and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
Kyle will suggest it’s his own business who he spends his time with, but he’ll ultimately admit Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) fired him at Jabot.
Once Kyle clarifies that nothing personal is happening with Audra, he’ll reveal that they’re now co-CEOs at Glissade.
Summer will express concern over Kyle co-running Jabot’s competitor and will make it clear that she doesn’t want Audra anywhere near Harrison.
As they continue to bicker, Summer will suggest maybe it’s time to talk about revisiting the custody agreement.
Kyle will ask if that’s a threat, so Summer will note that he can call it whatever he wants and will vow to have her attorney get in touch with Kyle’s.
After Summer stomps off, Claire will reappear and wonder if everything’s all right.
Kyle won’t want to get into this with Harrison there, so he’ll invite Claire to have dinner with him so he can tell her all about it.
In Paris, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will return from visiting Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) facility, so Abby will admit it’s hard to see her mom struggling in an institution like that.
Nevertheless, Traci will assure Abby that Ashley is doing better since her doctors already had some positive updates.
Abby will remain upset over being left in the dark on Ashley’s condition for so long, so Traci will apologize and promise not to leave her out of the loop again.
Once Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) arrives, he’ll give Traci a scarf as a gift since he saw her admiring it in the boutique window the other night.
Alan will greet Abby and offer reassurance about Ashley’s recovery before heading off with Traci for drinks.
At the bar, Alan will flirt with Traci as he calls her beautiful inside and out.
After spending the evening growing closer, Alan will give Traci a kiss when he drops her off later.
Back in Genoa City, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will tell Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) about Jill Abbott’s (Jess Walton) illness just before the board vote, so Devon will question the timing of this news.
Although Devon will hate what Jill’s going through, he’ll act like maybe Billy’s trying to manipulate him and get him to vote based on sympathy.
Once Jill gets on the video call, she’ll quickly realize that Billy has told both Devon and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about her condition.
Jill will lash out over her privacy being violated, but she’ll ultimately just want to get the board vote going.
This meeting will be about deciding whether the companies should demerge, so Devon will push for a few more answers about dividing assets before the board vote gets underway.
Billy, Lily, Devon and Abby via video chat will all vote in support of ending the merger, so Jill will be outnumbered despite taking back her voting rights for this.
Since Jill will think the demerger is a mistake, she’ll still vote no as a symbolic gesture before hanging up.
After Devon bolts, Billy will notice that Lily doesn’t look excited about them getting what they wanted. Lily will seem glum as she admits she feels like they let Jill down.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy will do his best to get Lily pumped about the future, but our predictions hint that some betrayals will complicate things!
