The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will take a proposal to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and hope he approves. Billy is trying to be a one-man show at Abbott-Chancellor, but could he ultimately realize he needs some backup?
After Billy fired Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), he rejected Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) proposition about becoming his co-CEO.
Billy tried to convince Chance to stay at the company in the COO role, but Chance wound up walking away instead.
It’s possible Phyllis will pitch herself for that COO spot since she’ll indeed have some sort of plan for Billy to mull over.
It’s reasonable to assume it involves Abbott-Chancellor, especially since Phyllis could use a job right now.
However, there’s a chance Billy and Phyllis could mix business with pleasure.
Billy had a romance while working with Lily once upon a time, so he has a history of blurring lines at the office.
Phyllis and Billy are former flames, so it’d be interesting if they rekindled something between them.
Even if it’s just a one-night stand while burning the midnight oil, it’d be fun to see Billy and Phyllis revive their spark.
That honestly might help Billy relax a little since he’s so uptight these days.
Likewise, Billy might help Phyllis cope with any burning desires for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) while he’s busy rescuing Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).
Gina Tognoni was playing Phyllis the last time she was romantically entangled with Billy, but this could be Y&R’s opportunity to truly test the chemistry with Michelle Stafford in the role again.
Of course, that doesn’t mean Phyllis and Billy will reconnect enough to live happily ever after.
Billy will continue to bond with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), but a hookup with Phyllis in the meantime could still be intriguing to watch.
Whatever the case, Phyllis knows how to push the right buttons when it comes to Billy and may get him on board with hiring her.
Perhaps Phyllis will convince Billy that Abbott-Chancellor gave up control of Omega Sphere too quickly and suggest teaming up to go after it.
If so, that could add to the tension between Billy and Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) since Winters walked away with the gaming platform in the demerger.
No matter how things play out, Billy could use a way to relieve some stress – and Phyllis could provide that if Y&R’s willing to let them hook up!
