In tonight’s 9-1-1 episode, a famous actor was now following the 118 around. Brad Torrance of the tv series “Hot Shots” has latched onto Bobby. Bobby was the only one to tell him the truth and Brad valued that. He perhaps valued it a little too much because now he seeks Bobby’s approval for everything.

He even gave up a consistent paycheck to follow the 118 around like a probie. The team has to watch his show. They have to give him feedback on what it was really like as a firefighter. They tried to tell him it was mostly boring. They rarely do these epic saves like it shows on television shows. And so the first real action Brad got to witness was when a rude driver ignored construction cones.

There were literal cones on the street. It was helping people navigate around the construction work currently happening. One guy chose to be a jerk and he drove into the danger zone.

He must have hit something vital because there was an explosion. The red car that started it all was thrown feet away. The construction workers were working on the sewer and so it was the sewer that was raining down from the air like a thunderstorm. People got trapped in their cars. The whole zone was dangerous and that’s what the 118 walked in on.

Brad loved getting that call. He loved watching them in action. He was taking notes while people were literally drowning in their cars from the sewer water.

Eddie was rescuing a woman when Brad saw another woman passed out in her car. He went to this woman. He broke a window to gain access to her and then he carried her over to the fire truck. He didn’t check her vitals. Or see if she had any injuries. He was very reckless and Bobby had to call him out on it. Not that Brad seemed to notice because he was trending on social media.

The woman that Brad helped had recognized him from the show. She said his real name out loud. Other people started recognizing him and he got to feel like a hero.

He didn’t understand that real life was nothing like his television show. He wasn’t a real firefighter. He wasn’t even a cadet. He was an observer. He has to stand back and observe.

Bobby told him that. Only time will tell if it sticks. Athena had her own hands full with someone trying to do her job. She ran into a “cart cop”. It was this young kid named Graham who hangs around the parking lot.

The cart cop would remind people to return their carts to the kiosk. If they shirk their duty or leave the carts in parking spots, he would call them out. He would also put his magnet calling them a shirker on their cars.

The police received two calls about the guy. The store called it the first time saying he was harassing people. The second call came from people who hated the guy putting magnets on their car. Athena responded to the second call before it turned into a riot and she warned the kid that a busybody was going to run into the wrong body one day.

Well, Athena’s prediction later came true. Graham was brutally beaten up and left for dead. His go-pro camera was also gone. Someone knew the cameras from the back of the store weren’t working. The cart cop got lucky that Hen and Chimney were able to get his pulse back. Graham later woke up in the hospital with the same sarcastic wit.

He thought Athena would tell him “I told you so”. He was surprised when she didn’t. She was more focused on getting him justice. She asked him if there was anyone willing to hurt him. And he gave her and the detective on the case a link to his YouTube page.

Graham recorded his cart cop trips. He’s had several people threaten to kill him. From the security of the store he frequents to the people that just left their cart anywhere.

Graham was so hated that there was still a footprint on his face from a size nine boot. His enemies were all asked what sizes they wore. Most of them weren’t a match only there was one guy that refused to answer the police’s questions without a warrant. Athena was still investigating when things with Brad took a dark turn. Brad so wanted Bobby’s approval.

He got depressed when he didn’t get it. The 118 was called to the scene of a jumper. The jumper’s name was Craig. He recognized Brad from his tv show and so they sent Brad to talk him down. They thought Brad would remind him to fight. Brad instead talked about how his life didn’t feel like it had meaning. He wasn’t married.

He didn’t have kids. He didn’t really have friends either. He was alone and sometimes that was triggering. Brad somehow managed to talk Craig off the ledge of a bridge. Craig was getting medical treatment when Brad’s depression caught up to him. He just passed out.

The whole thing was a lesson for Eddie. Eddie was thinking about moving back to Texas. He originally came to LA for his son and his son wasn’t there anymore. He was back in El Paso. Chris enjoyed his life there. He was adapting well. The only problem was that it was beginning to feel like he didn’t need his dad anymore.

Eddie will always love him, but he wasn’t ready to lose him. He started looking at houses in Texas. Buck found him doing it and offered to help. Buck usually deals with separation by acting out. He didn’t do that this time. He knew Eddie has to make the best decision for his family.

Athena meanwhile solved her case. Graham was attacked by Ira. Ira was paid hourly for returning the carts to the front of the store. If people started doing it themselves, he’d be out of a job. The cops thought maybe that was a reason and it wasn’t. Ira wasn’t Ira. He was Maurice Smith.

He jumped bail and there was an active warrant out for him from a different state. He attacked Graham because Graham kept recording him on his go-pro. Maurice was getting transferred to a separate state for his crimes. Athena thought Graham showed promise after everything happened. She contacted Maurice’s old job. She got Graham a job putting the carts back to kiosk.

And Brad returned to his tv show. He realized that’s where he belongs. His old bosses wrote that he woke up from his coma and the 118 got cameos on his first episode back.

THE END!
