SWAT Recap

Officer Gamble was being investigated. She couldn’t work while she was being investigated. She was benched and so Powell agreed to turn an extra-long weekend into a girls trip. Powell was worried about Gamble. Did you know that Gamble hasn’t filled out the report for her defense? The paperwork would at least show that Gamble was taking the investigation seriously.

It would also help her fight back. Her ignoring the paperwork was just going to prolong the investigation. Powell wanted to talk to her friend about that and so she took her hiking. They could have gone a scenic route. They instead chose to do the much harder trail.

They ran into a guy. He basically mansplained hiking to them. He told them that the Coyote area was washed out and that they should take the easier route. Which only angered the women. They chose to go the Coyote route.

They later found the area wasn’t washed out as the man claimed. They also found a pregnant woman in distress. They were trying to help when they ran into the guy again. He was apparently a part of an illegal drug operation out in the woods. He pulled a gun on the cops before they could reach theirs. He also went digging through their stuff.

He found their badges. He knew they’re cops. He called in for backup. The officers grabbed their guns and they were fighting back until they realized they were outnumbered. They chose to make a run for it. They didn’t have cell reception what with being so deep in the woods.

They also didn’t have radios. They were on the run. They didn’t have the backup. They didn’t know how many were involved in the illegal drug operation. Powell wanted to take the service road so that they could get reception. Gamble wanted to go back for the pregnant girl.

The girl’s name was CC. She was heavily pregnant. She took a nasty fall and Gamble was worried she was injured. Gamble didn’t think CC had that long while they tried to get backup. She convinced Powell to go back for the girl. She said those guys were playing about being drug lords.

Only they were more than that. The drug dealers were also partaking in slavery. They were forcing illegal immigrants to work for them. The women ran into Tia. Tia pretended to be one of the victims only she tried to sell them out the first chance she could.

Tia was in charge of the workers. She was gagged before she could alert the others. Tia admitted that she doesn’t work for the losers at the pot farm. She works for Mr. Minh. He was far more dangerous than the other guys. The cops tied up Tia. They also took her keys. They used that to get to the main house.

They found CC and they were getting her away when this Mr. Minh showed up. Tia tried warning her boss. He didn’t like hearing that there were cops nearby and so he killed Tia. He threatened to kill the guys at the farm as well if the cops weren’t found.

The officers had CC at that point. They used her to figure out the layout of the compound. They sent out an emergency call for backup. They also tried to reach the other prisoners. CC overheard the guys that Minh wanted no trace of the operation.

He planned on burning the fields and killing the other women they enslaved. The officers couldn’t leave the women to die. They went back to the farm. They stole guys from some of the armed men. They also got into a major with each other. It wasn’t the best time ,but it had to be said.

Powell called Gamble out for throwing her own career away by not signing a letter of defense. Gamble called Powell needy and she said she doesn’t need a family. She didn’t want to be a part of the family that Hondo put together.

Gamble said she was sick of the drama. Of getting caught up in other people’s issues. Its why she hasn’t returned any of Hondo’s calls or texts. Hondo actually asked Powell to talk Gamble for him. He wanted Gamble to keep her career. She just has to fight for it.

The two women butt heads out there. Regardless of that, they still made sure to work with each other. Powell created a distraction while Gamble hotwired a truck. They loaded the women up. They were trying to drive them to the service road when they lost a tire. They had to make the rest of the trip on foot.

They were going to get picked off when their team arrived. SWAT started firing at the men. They even identified the man in charge. His full name is Le Tran Minh. He fled southeast Asia after his previous drug operation got shot down.

Funnily enough, if Minh had simply hired an American to do the paperwork, the pot farm would be legal. He wouldn’t need slaves. Or to kill people. He spent a lot of money for something that could have been completed with a license. SWAT was able to arrest Minh.

Powell and Gamble also saved CC when one of the guy tried to drag her away. He didn’t care that the baby CC was carrying was his. He was going to use her as a human shield and he was only stopped when Powell tackled him to the ground.

Gamble later apologized to Powell for what she said. Powell didn’t return the apology. She stuck to her earlier statements. Gamble needed to stop playing the victim and fight for her spot on the team. Hondo meanwhile ran into his cousin, Andre. Andre convinced Hondo’s dad to fund his newest adventure.

Andre was in serious debt with a loan shark when Hondo stepped in. He covered the debt. The one thing he asked from Andre was that he get a job and pay Hondo two hundred dollars every month until the debt was paid. And Andre couldn’t do it.

Andre ghosted Hondo. Hondo finding out about the ponzi scheme with his head was a coincidence. Hondo’s pop invested five grand in a protein powder business and it was all because of Andre. Andre said he wasn’t created for a nine to five. He was constantly trying to take shortcuts.

Hondo later showed him that the protein powder gig was a ponzi scheme. He also told Andre that it was time he finally grew up. He needed to stop looking for shortcuts and put in some actual work.

And Deac was forced to apologize to Miko. Miko brough him a great job that Deac turned down. Deac turned it down because he thought he was too good for it and that made him seem like he thought he was too good for Miko as well.

But he did apologize. He also learned a lesson about what kind of clients he was going to take for his security business.
