Jennifer Hudson Parties Too Soon After William Balfour Murder Verdict

Nothing says justice quite like…Six Flags? Less than a day after William Balfour was found guilty of murdering her mother, brother and nephew, Oscar Winner Jennifer Hudson let off some steam at Six Flags Great America in Chicago.

Along with her fiancé, David Otunga, and other family members and friends, Jennifer went on the park’s new “X Flight” wing coaster and, from the looks of the pictures, seems like she hadn’t a care in the world.

I can only imagine the grief that has been lifted from her shoulders. On Friday, Balfour was convicted of 1st degree murder in the 2008 deaths of Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson, and Julian King. Balfour was also convicted of home invasion and residential burglary.

It’s been a four year nightmare for Hudson full of highs and lows. She slimmed down with Weight Watchers and became a national spokesperson for the brand, gave birth to her first child and became engaged, all with this trial and its decision looming. Naturally, the trial proved stressful for Hudson who was present for most and even took the stand last month. She did not testify about the shooting but offered an emotional testimony about her family, including her initial reaction to her sister, Julia Hudson, telling her she was marrying Balfour in 2006. Hudson said, “None of us wanted her to marry him. We did not like how he treated her.”

Balfour faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison. Hopefully, the family can find some peace and closure from the decision and rebuild.
