Elton John is donating concert tickets to Britain’s troops for one of his upcoming UK shows. Tickets will be given to soldiers who have served in Afghanistan on behalf of the Tickets for Troops organization. Talk about a fabulous gesture.
After recently having to cancel a few of his concerts in Vegas (more on that here) due to a serious respiratory infection, Sir Elton is back on track to feeling healthy and is prepping for some big shows in June, including a gig for the Queen.
On Monday June 4th, 2012, John is set to perform at Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee concert in London and just a couple weeks later he will be singing his heart out in Birmingham, England on June 15th. After donating tickets to the Tickets for Troops organization for that particular gig to be held at the LG Arena, you can bet Elton will pull out all the stops to show the troops how much he supports and appreciates them.
A spokesman for the organization says, “Tickets for Troops are extremely grateful to Sir Elton John… This is yet another mark of the country’s appreciation for the sacrifices the marvellous men and women of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces make on our behalf. I hope the troops who receive these prestigious tickets have the most enjoyable time.”
As long as John plays “Crocodile Rock” live, I think everyone will be feeling fabulous.
