As easy as it is to criticize the youngest in the Jenner/Kardashian family, it’s crucial to remember that they didn’t choose a life of fame. Instead, they were shoved in front of the camera by pimp mother Kris Jenner, and learned to love the money and fame. When they turn 18, I figure it’s open season on every little thing they do, but for now, back off—they’re minors. Though they lead glamorous lives of luxury, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner still have to learn lessons, and they’re often more painful to learn, as they’re under constant scrutiny.
Today, the girls had a lesson in friendship. “LOL the things people will do, or lie about just so that they’re on your good side . . . .. #sketchy,” Kendall tweeted. Obviously she’s endured some sort of hideous betrayal and is realizing that there are people who, despite her youth, will use her for the fame. We’d love to know more about this break up! But it sounds like one of Kendall’s friends was outed as a poser, and she isn’t having any of it. We doubt mom Kris taught her to say no to people though—she’d never cut off a relationship, for fear of losing money down the line.
Kendall wasn’t alone in the nasty friend business—little sister Kylie was forced to do a friend clean out too. This morning she shared, “I’m so happy with the company I keep,” suggesting that she’s very careful about whom she lets in to her life. But tides changed later, when Kylie sent: “It’s funny when people talk shit about other people and then have these secret friendships with them . . Just be straight up.” Could the girls be dishing about the same ex-bestie? We’ll have to keep an eye out for Twitter and Instagram tags. Sadly, it’s a lesson we all have to learn: there are always leech friends, looking to use and abuse.
It can’t be coincidence that the super-close sisters learn this lesson on the same day. Teen relationships are hard, and working them out on TV and in front of paparazzi has to seriously suck. By the same token, these girls are incredibly privileged, and have doors open to them that most of us don’t even dare to dream of! What’s our course of action, then? Pity, for the minors whose family is set on exploiting them, or jealousy, annoyance, and perhaps a bit of morbid intrigue? How do you feel about the Jenner sisters?
