Well, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev both made an appearance at Comic-Con this year. They didn’t make a fuss or create any major controversy, but all eyes were on them to see how they would behave. Surprisingly [or unsurprisingly, based on what you read], they were very professional and even posed for some portraits together. Although several fans at Comic-Con said there was some undeniable tension between them, it wasn’t so obvious that it became an issue. However, even with all of that, sources close to the couple say that they’re still trying to stay away from each other whenever possible.
This might have led to the rush of departure after their Vampire Diaries panel, where they didn’t get to sign for fans, leading to a lot of complaints. Nina and Ian usually sign for fans whenever possible, so either they were genuinely busy, or they didn’t want the press and fans to see them together.
They did tweet about it afterwards, apologizing for the incident. Nina said, “Didnt get to hang with you guys at the conventions this summer! Sad face :( Ill make up for it today! Promise. Loveeee u guys!” and Ian tweeted, “To everyone that I couldn’t take a photo with b/c I was rushing from one place to another: I appreciate you, in fact I love you. Thank you, Ian.”
That’s sweet that they at least took time to apologize to their fans – it’s a lot more than most actors would do. What do you guys think about Nina and Ian’s apology tweets to their fans, and why do you think they didn’t sign? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
